The Mercure
Smoke-bronze and clear glass spheres suspended individually on fine cables at dramatically staggered heights — each globe formed with concentric internal ribbing that wraps the glass in a series of horizontal rings, like the latitude lines of a planet. The installation mixes two finishes: a deep tobacco-smoke glass that absorbs light and concentrates it into a warm amber core, and a clear crystal that broadcasts it outward in all directions.
What makes it special:
- The two-finish mix — smoke and clear — creates depth within a single installation; no two spheres read identically even in the same light conditions
- The internal concentric ribbing functions as a lens, multiplying the single LED point source into a layered sequence of rings visible through the glass
- The scale is entirely variable — from a composed cluster of twelve above a dining table to a ceiling-spanning installation of eighty or more
Perfect for:
- Hotel lobbies, bars, and hospitality spaces with high ceilings
- Residential entrance halls and double-height open-plan spaces
- Interiors with dark, moody palettes where the amber-smoke glass creates warmth at scale
