The Modern Candelabra
The form of a grand candelabra — tiered arms radiating from a central column, each arm ending in an upward-facing light — reinterpreted entirely in matte black steel with hand-formed glass cylinders in place of candles. Each glass cylinder is individually cast with swirling internal veining, so no two are identical. Available as a circular tiered chandelier or as a linear bar spanning a long dining table. The result is something that is unmistakably classical in silhouette and entirely contemporary in execution.
What makes it special:
- Each glass cylinder is individually cast — the internal veining varies on every single element, giving the installation genuine craft character
- When lit, the translucent glass glows from within, the veining casting soft patterned light onto the arms below
- The circular version reads as a traditional chandelier in plan; the linear bar is a completely different, table-focused proposition
- The matte black steel frame is graphic and precise — it gives the classical form a thoroughly contemporary material language
Perfect for:
- Formal dining rooms where a recognisable chandelier silhouette is wanted without period pastiche
- Long dining tables where the linear bar configuration positions light precisely above the full table length
- Spaces where handcraft and material quality need to be legible — the glass cylinders reward close inspection
